What happens when a magnet is pushed into a coil?

An e.m.f. is induced in the coil.

The coil explodes.

The magnet is repelled.

Nothing happens.

Moving a magnet into a coil induces an electromotive force (e.m.f.) and therefore a current, in the coil, as per Faraday's law of induction.
